HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation 

Level Up is proud to offer HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation to members of the Adelaide fitness community and the general public. Training and assessment delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909.

Successful completion of this course will entitle the participant to receive 1 CEC with Fitness Australia.

Facilitator: Sophie Beers

Location: VFIT Holistic – 108 Prospect Road, Prospect.

Method: Mixed delivery – 1 hour of unsupervised online training + 2 hours of practical training and assessment face to face.

Time: 9am – 11am

Assessment comprises of multiple choice theory paper, and practical. Students must be able to demonstrate the following:

Adult CPR: Performing at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor; including the demonstration of a rotation of operators with minimal interruptions to compressions

Infant CPR: Responded to a first aid scenario and performed at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles both compressions and ventilations) on an infant resuscitation manikin placed on a firm surface;

Defibrillation: Followed the prompts of an automated external defibrillator (AED)

Other:

• Manage infection control requirements
• Responding appropriately in the event of regurgitation or vomiting
• Demonstrating safe manual handling techniques
• Managing the unconscious breathing casualty
• Providing a verbal report of the incident

*Please note there are no entry requirements for this course, however a portion of the learning content must be completed online prior to the course date allowing the focus of the day to be on the practical components. If the pre-course component is not completed in full your attendance may need to be postponed.
